Okay Christmas has come and gone and I am still trying to catch up. I feel like we just started getting ready for the holidays and now they are almost over. Yuck...
Oh well we had a great Christmas and even had a Christmas miracle, Brianna cleaned her room. Yes it's true she did it! I was expecting a blizzard to hit after she finished; but no, just plain old sunny weather that day. I don't think I remember what a white Christmas looks like. All in all it was a good one. We had the family over and I cooked a Christmas dinner with Tina's help. We invited some friends over and enjoyed laughing and sharing our home with them.
We will be having a very busy weekend with New Years. I don't think we will be out much just have tons of event planned with family and friends. Maybe some ice skating if the weather permit's.
Okay that is it for now. Oh ya Richard got the yuckies and gave them to Brianna and they are trying to share with me. I don't think I should be in the same room or even same house with them until they are totally better.

Just a quick update

Update
My goodness I have abandoned my blog lately. I have missed it though. Thanks to everyone who checks it and who has commented. I do enjoy knowing that someone gets some pleasure out of it.
I just wanted everyone to know that I have gotten a new sense of purpose in my scrapbooking. I was in a scrappin slump and tonight got a renewed energy. I meet a fun group of women who love to scrap and have taken me in. Yes they are miles away but I totally enjoyed spending time with them and think it will be worth going once a month to do these projects with them. For those of you who scrap it is The Big Picture classes. I enjoyed tonight so much I bought the book. I even got a lo done. YAH ME
Okay enough about me. The family is doing well. DH is getting ready for another cook off in February. It is a big one and is just for fun. All of the money raised goes to charity and they have tons of events through out the weekend. I am looking forward to this one. Bri is getting older every day. I feel so lost some days. I wonder where did the time go???? And when did it pass me by??? I keep looking for my little girl and keep finding this amazing you girl. I am in awe of her. I love watching her when she isn't looking. Silly yes I know but that is my sad life. The simple things in life bring me joy. I'll see if I can find some fun pics to put up here. I know I must have taken some recently.

My Birthday
My birthday has come and gone once again. This year I was in San Antonio for a seminar on home health. I must say though this was one of the funnest birthdays I have had. We went down to the river walk and found our way to Howl at the Moon. I had so much fun there. The music was great and the drinks were cold what else could I have asked for. My co workers were a blast as well.
I learned that you can have fun no matter where you are or who you are with. I opened up to people who only know me at work and found that they were pretty fun. So that was my lesson for the year.
We went to an outdoor mall our last night in town and had fun just walking around and checking out all the stuff we would buy if we were rich. I did find the perfect pair of black shoes. Richard will learn some day that you never have enough shoes. Anyway they were on sale and were calling my name (they were whispering SOPHIA buy me) what was a girl to do?????? I didn't make it to the local scrapbook store though. I have yet to go and am making it a priority next time I go to San Antonio.

October LO challenge

Tennis Girly Girls
Brianna and her friend had so much fun playing in their doubles match. Getting third place was the highlight of the afternoon. They smiled and laughed the entire time. This was her third tournament and she has done so good for this being her first year playing. She got second place in her first tournament which was a singles match. Brianna has to work on the word team work, but totally enjoyed having someone to brag with.
Sorry I forgot to flip the pic before uploading but you get the idea. They got out of order but you can see how we started with nothing in there and then added color then wood. I think that it was one of the more stressful moments in our marriage. I wanted it to be done yesterday and it was getting done today. But it is now done and we have floors and light fixtures. Richard did most of the work but I did help with the floor and even learned how to use a table saw. Yes me. I still need to put things on the walls. That will come with time.

Crazy Life
Okay things are crazy here but such is life they say. If things were slow we wouldn't know what to do. Work is crazy as usual and having an only child doesn't help with managing time. Yah I know people with more kids do it all the time but the problem is that I only have the one so have no idea how to manage my time with multiple events. Between choir, choir, choir, and tennis I feel lost. Yes three different choirs (you know I'm not even that into music) but such is our life. I haven't mentioned my mother who gets bored and calls when I am busy and just wants to talk about nothing. Don't get me wrong I love her and would be sad if I didn't have her around to make those annoying calls but some times I just need time for me. Then we could talk about my sister and her pissy calls. She calls to let me know that life stinks and how I have no right to reject her calls. The worst part is I don't reject her calls they go straight to voice mail sometimes. You have to love modern technology.
I know I am venting. But if not here than where do I release these frustrations.
My living room is done. I still need to hang pics back up on the wall and decorate but the work is done. I have painted walls, base boards, and new fixtures. How cool is that. I love the color and the floors well I love them but look at them and know that my husband almost died over them. I believe couples should not do home repairs together unless they want to get divorced. We survived and now have new floors (imperfections and all). Hi Out There
Hello out there in cyber land. I thought I would surprise everyone and post. LOL
I have just returned from Houston for a conferance on Home Health and the legalities that go with it. My head is still spinning. I will go back to work with a renewed since of direction and a lot of work. Any who enough about work with has kept me tooooo busy.
Brianna has started seventh grade (yes you read it right 7th grade) and all is well so far. She is playing tennis this year and is enjoying it. She is also returned to Classical Choir of Abilene. She is loving it. She is in Choir at school and was told she was a saprano 1. I could have told them that with all of the singing she does around the house (or that is what she calls it).
We had my nephew spend the night with us on Sunday night. I miss having him around. I enjoyed the time we got to spend with him. He enjoyed the spider man PJ he got. He played with our little cousin and they were tooo cute together. I cann't wait until we get him again. Hope his mom needs a sitter soon.
My house is in the process of being painted (living room and hallway) and getting new flooring. We talked about it for the last year and out of no where DH went out and bought the supplies and started while I was in Houston. So long story short we have no furniture in the living room and everything is taped off. I know he will do a great job and it will look wonderful when he is done. I'll post pics when he finishes.

Bloggin
I recently was told that I needed to read my friend's blogs and remembered that I had neglected mine. How could I have done such a thing. I guess with this so called promotion I got lost in the whole day to day running of life. I forgot about me. It has been work work work and oh ya more work. I am now at the point that work is no longer fun. I do love what I do but it leaves me little to no time for what I love to do. My scrappin has also been neglect. I find that I enjoy reading others blogs and taking a short glimpse into their lives. I think it is a way to touch base with those who we love to be with but don't always have time to visit with. I'll keep bloggin for now and try to make work just something I do to pay the bills and not let it consume my every hour.

Pattern Here
I am noticing a pattern here. I only post on the weekends. Hummm could it be my crazy work schedule? I am thinking yes. I feel that I have been running in circle lately and need to stop and smell the roses (scrapbook glue at least). I have been so busy that I can't remember the last time that I sat with nothing to do. I think this hot weather has warped my brain. School is out and my daughter will now be home with nothing to do except nag at me that she is bored. I am counting the days till summer camp starts. After a few hundred calls asking me what I am doing; I start to realize that teaching her to use the phone a younger age was a big mistake. HUMMMM could I go back in time and change things.
I am going to need to change my ways so that I can post more often. I am going to Arlington for convention this week and will be taking my daughter with me. It will be good bonding time as well as scrappin time. I will take my laptop with me so I can post while I am there.

Week in Review
Well here we go again. It took me a whole week to get back to posting. I have had a very crazy week at work and just knew I would get caught up at some point. I am almost there but not 100%. It was physically and emotionally exhausting. I did however make it through the week.
Anyway the Texas Hog Rally was in town this weekend and no we did not get to go. We don't own a Harley (sigh) and it was for owners only. The bikes were all over town and all I could do was drool. I did however have DH take me out for a ride on his bike on Thursday for about an hour of adult time that I so needed. I did love seeing all of those bikes around town. Yes I know I am a dork but as my friend said "YOU CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THE FEELING OF SOMETHING BIG AND POWERFUL VIBRATING BETWEEN YOU LEGS."
Anyway we went out of town for a friend's 25th anniversary party and had a blast there. Of course we made time to stop at a bike store. (wiped the drool of my chin a few times) Richard said no he wouldn't buy me a bike (at least not before he took a lot of insurance out on me) no matter how much I asked.
Life is looking a little better. I am still trying to figure out how to put pics up but it will have to wait till later in the week. Desperate house wives starts in a few and I will be glued to the TV.

My Happenings
I am back now. Richard is out of town playing golf with the boys. (A well deserved time away I must say) He works so hard and never really takes time for himself. We had our mothers day dinner Friday night which was great because we missed the crowds and had good food and laughter with my mom.
I bought a webcam today and let me tell you I am just not the best at these things. My friend and I tried to use it and I just couldn't get it to work right. (I think it was user error) I'll get it working.
I haven't let you guys in on a secret.... Tammie.... she isn't so innocent. She drinks and grabs people where she shouldn't in bars. Yes Tammie our not so innocent friend. She was just dancing on chairs.....Oh no snap that wasn't her it was me. But she was a bad girl. I have pics to prove it too. I am so going to miss her when she leave. I just stinks that I made such a good friend and now she is moving.
Tommorow is Mother's Day and Brianna has here ballet Recital. I can't wait to see her do her thing up there. She works so hard through out the year for this one day to show off her talents. I took some pics at rehersal today and will try to post them once I go through and see which ones came out the best.

Crazy Day
What a crazy day!!!!!! As you can tell by the hour that I am posting. Playing catch up at work has been a nightmare. I have most of it caught up but still need a few days to be 100% caught up. I brought work home tonight (what a night mare) and almost died when my internet stopped working. I thought I was going to have to go back to the office to do my data entry. I have come to the conclusion that Clear Wire is just not worth it. I finally got it back up after replacing the ethernet cord and bypassing my router get one of the computers up and going I will work on the other tomorrow.
If my day wasn't crazy enough I had a sick kid who slept all day and then couldn't go to sleep at her bed time. But don't feel to sorry for her; she is better now. Just a 24 hr stomach bug I guess.
I did have one good thing happen.....my PINK razor came in. I just love it. And not a minute to early my old phone has been giving me fits.
Well there you go another dull, busy day in my life.

Okay Okay I finally did it!!!! I started my blog. There isn't much to say for now other than I am new at the whole process and am not sure if I am doing this right. I must say that I have had a busy weekend spending girl time with my friends, and visiting others that just need a some one to lean on. I am not sure if I could be a military wife. But for those of you who are I respect and thank you. You guys are the back bone of those serving in the armed forces.
Okay I will get off of my soap box. Jamie I hope Leo is better and that he will be 100% soon. Tell him I said hello.
